The Finnish telecom major decided to stick to its basics and unveiled its new basic mobile phone at CES - the Nokia 1006. Nokia mobile phones deliver best when it comes to performance and this phone too seems to be good when it comes to performance, if not advanced modern day functionalities.

Nokia 1006 sports a slim, elegant candy-bar design, with an amazing display supporting 262,000 colors! Very lightweight phone as it weighs mere 2.6 ounces.

Other Features

• Supports Brew 3.1.5, 72-chord polyphonic ringtones, customizable wallpapers and screensavers
• 500-contact phone book, a calculator, an alarm clock, a stopwatch, a voice recorder, a speakerphone, messaging, and Bluetooth
• Available in blue, silver, and red colors.

It is speculated that the phone will hit the US shores somewhere around in the first quarter of 2009.
