It’s the first ever notebook with an optical drive, the ASUS Eee PC 1004DN. This cardinal notebook claims to be the first netbook with an integrated optical drive with a 10.2-inch display with 1,024 x 600 resolutions and uses the Intel GN40 chipset, hmmm luck one, as no one have used it. This device suffices an Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM and 120GB 1.8- inch hard drive with a ZIF interface.
It also includes a fingerprint scanner for the biometric security, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR. It is outfitted with a 1.3 megapixel webcam, ExpressCard 34 slot, a multi-touch touchpad and three USB 2.0 ports. It weighs 1.45kg with a supplied 6-cell battery, rated at 5.9h of usage. It will be available in Taiwan at a price of US $609 (approx. Rs 29,363) only.
