First ever netbook with an optical drive, Asus Eee PC 1004DN

It’s the first ever notebook with an optical drive, the ASUS Eee PC 1004DN.  This cardinal notebook claims to be the first netbook with an integrated optical drive with a 10.2-inch display with 1,024 x 600 resolutions and uses the Intel GN40 chipset, hmmm luck one, as no one have used it. This device suffices an Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM and 120GB 1.8- inch hard drive with a ZIF interface.

It also includes a fingerprint scanner for the biometric security, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR. It is outfitted with a 1.3 megapixel webcam, ExpressCard 34 slot, a multi-touch touchpad and three USB 2.0 ports. It weighs 1.45kg with a supplied 6-cell battery, rated at 5.9h of usage. It will be available in Taiwan at a price of US $609 (approx. Rs 29,363) only.
